Jeff from Blind Barber was kind enough to host a Rooftop BBQ Party at his apartment building last Monday for Memorial Day and it turned out to be better than we could have ever expected. Shoutouts to NSR, Dash Speaks, & Colin for relieving me of my DJ duties throughout the day. ALSO, KEEP ME AWAY FROM THE MIC UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE CONSTANTLY REMINDED OF THE BEAUTIFUL SUNSET (“Everyone turn around, LETS DANCE to the sunset”)

So I just got a full DJ set up in my house (Turntables & a Mixer) & I figured I’d put them to good use. I’m starting a series of mixes where the first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is jump on the 1′s & 2′s. I’m just curious to see how a night’s sleep can effect my song selections. Who knows?

Hey ya’ll,
I just finished up a new mix that I’m quite proud of. As a whole it’s quite different than my Slow your Roll series which consists of mostly House/Electro. This time around, I’ve compiled (and edited) tracks that are very dear to my heart; songs that I listen to when I’m in need of an escape. I’m a sucker for love ballads & funky basslines, so you’ll hear that throughout. I’ve also squeezed in some NeoSoul and afro/latin inspired beats.
