With the overabundance of releases/remixes/EPs/LPs/etc dropping–combined with the amount of music I get my hands on–dope tracks always seem to slip through the cracks. The internet has spoiled me with access to a wide range of music and well…It’s hard to keep up.
I’m going to dedicate this week to filtering through my entire library; weeding out all the fillers and fluff. Less is more. Knowing your collection is essential to being a great “Master selector”
The following are some choice cuts–both new and old–that I’ve been Vibe-ing to all week:
Azari & III – Reckless With Your Love [Hailing from Canada; Detroit+Chicago Influenced; Love The Vocals]
Damn Arms - Destination pt. 1 [Dope band from Australia]
Four Tet – Love Cry [Close your eyes; Be Patient; It'll be Worth it.]
Joe Goddard – Lemon & Lime (Home Time) [Joe Goddard's (of Hot Chip fame) side project; LP out now on Greco-Roman]
Relevant Tunes:
Bullion – Funnybones [One of my favorite Producers Right Now]
Ernest Gonzalez – Self Awakening [Music for when you just wanna lay in bed and stare at the ceiling]
Toro Y Moi – Talamak [Absolutely amazing; from the "Causers Of This" LP; An Artist to look our for]

Dam Funk is bringing back that West Coast Electro-Funk sound with his newest LP ‘Toeachizown’ (Stones Throw Records).
I can’t help but reminisce of the days & nights I spent with my pop-n-locking crew back in Ridgewood (Shout outs to Bhakti+Jahnu+Cyn+Josh…Miss ya’ll) or listening to ‘Purple Rain’; there’s definitely Prince references all over Dam’s catalogue (and I love it).
